How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

Cleaning your makeup brushes is one of those necessary tasks that we all have to do. We have to do this to get rid of all of that bacteria from our face that is transferred onto our brush every-time we use it and left to accumulate over time. Here is how I keep my makeup brushes nice and clean, to help avoid any pesky break outs!

  1. Firstly, I run my brushes gently under warm water;
  2. Next, pump a small amount of your choice of cleaning product into the palm of your hand;
  3. Carefully swirl your brush in your hand, and occasionally add some water to lather it up and give your brush a thorough clean;
  4. After you feel all of that dirty, oil and left over makeup product has been washed off the brush, gently rinse it under the warm water;
  5. Squeeze the excess water out, and if the water released is dirty still go ahead and give your brush another wash;
  6. Shape and slightly dry your brushes with a cloth or paper towel, before laying them down flat to dry overnight
Top Tip: try not to let the water seep above the top of the bristles, as this can make them come away from the glue and ruin your brush!

What Is In My Bag?

Hi Guys!
Today I am doing a collaboration with Vanilla Drxps who is a Beauty, Lifestyle and Fashion blogger. I am in love with her cute blog design and her posts are amazing so do make sure to check out her "Whats In My Bag" post as well!

The bag I am currently using is the New Look, Tan Tassel Metal Plate Handbag. I honestly love this bag so much because it fits a lot in, and is super easy and comfy to carry! This is reasonably priced at £22.99 and I do recommend you go buy this!

I always make sure I have my purse with me when I leave the house. Since I got this for my birthday, I've been using "Carley Small Crosshatch Leather Purse" by Ted Baker. I have this in the colour Pale Pink and since this is a 'compact leather purse' it doesn't take up a lot of room in any of my handbags, which I love. If you are wondering, it does still fit a lot in!

Chewing Gum is something I always love to carry around with me, but not to share!

It goes without saying that I carry around the lipstick I am wearing that day, and in this case it was the 'Soap And Glory, Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick' in the shade 'Nudist'. I also bring my mascara with me, to keep my lashes looking long and not fade throughout the day. This is the 'Roller Lash Mascara' by 'Benefit'.

My lips seem to get dry really easily, so I carry around my favourite Lush Lipbalm, 'Whipstick!'

Comparing My Two Favourite Mascaras

Hi Guys! I've wanted to compare my two favourite mascaras for you lot for a while now, and I've finally gotten round to it!

Benefit Roller Lash

This mascara is definitely on the pricey side costing £19.50. This product really does make my short lashes bolder and stand out more, and a teeny bit curlier. I would recommend this if you are wanting long, natural lashes.

Maybelline Lash Sensational, Lash Multiplying Mascara

This Mascara is definitely my favourite of the two. This is £7.99 and I normally find I have to run an eyelash comb through my eyelashes afterwards. However, it makes my lashes look so much more long and curly, what is not to love?

Real Techniques Brush Collection So Far

Hello everyone! Today I fancied doing a blog post on my Real Techniques collection so far. Enjoy!

These were my first ever Real Techniques makeup brushes, The Real Techniques Duo Fibers. From top to bottom we have the Duo-Fiber Face Brush, The Duo-Fiber Contour Brush and finally, The Duo-Fiber Eye Brush. I believe this set is limited edition and currently costs £23.99 in boots. This is by far the best makeup brush set I have as they are incredibly soft, and pick up a fair amount of product.

These next brushes I picked up from boots when they were on offer for around £11 down from £21.99. My favourite one out of this four is definitely the buffing brush because it makes my face look so much more natural! From top to bottom it's The Buffing Brush, The Contour Brush, The Pointed Foundation Brush and the teeny tiny Detailer Brush.

This is my latest purchase from Real Techniques (actually a present from my Mum) and this is the Real Techniques Starter Set. As I am a newbie when it comes to eyeliner, these are perfect for me to get started!

Naked Palette Review

I am absolutely IN LOVE with this beauty. The Urban Decay Naked Palette palette comes with 12 gorgeous colours, some matte and others have a glittery touch. What is not to love about the brush included?

My favourite shades have to be Sidecar, Sin, Half-Baked (also in the Naked 2 palette) and smog. Although, I am a sucker for more matte shades like Naked and Buck for more of a neutral eye.

The only issue, for me, is the packaging as I find the material used can make dust and fluff stick to it more haha!

HD Brows - Eye And Brows Palette

After hearing such great reviews about this product, I finally decided to bite the bullet and make my own mind up. This palette comes with (from left to right) a highlighting shade, two intensifying brow shades carbon-black definer and some new finishing wax.

These brow powders are "enhanced with antioxidants Vitamins C and E and are silky-smooth to the touch, easy to apply and blend..."  I can certainly say they are smooth to touch and easy to apply. From what I've found, they are quite pigmented and you certainly don't need a lot on the brush!

The Brush has a lovely, angled end on one side and on the other a nice fluffy brush, obviously for applying/blending eyeshadow.
